Zamora is a land of old vineyards
and wine is part of its history and
its most essential culture, which
impregnates its countryside, buildings
and art. Indeed, our everyday
language is laden with
references, sayings and allusions
to wine.
This province has not just one or
two winegrowing areas, but rather
four and each one produces different
wines that are very much their
own. Although three of these designations
come from near the
banks of the Douro River, all of
them include a wide variety of soils
and, in the case of the terraces in
the area of Los Arribes, climates.
Consequently, they also have a
wide selection of grape varieties.
